This morning I will be completing my first week on a weightlifting program called Stronglifts 5x5, there are essentially only two days of exercises but you do them three times a week, i.e. Workout A, Workout B, Workout A and the following week you switch the days. On monday I did squats, benchpress and barbell rows, on tuesday I did squats, overhead barbell press and deadlifts, today I will be repeating mondays routine. You do squats all three days since it works the entire body, after each day of successfully lifting the weights for 5 sets of 5 reps on the next time you do that particular exercise you add 5 pounds to the bar. If you can't complete the "5x5" for any one of the exercises you stay at that weight until you can complete it (you deload 10% if it takes more than 3 workout days).
