Stronglifts 5x5

Good Morning,

This morning I will be completing my first week on a weightlifting program called Stronglifts 5x5, there are essentially only two days of exercises but you do them three times a week, i.e. Workout A, Workout B, Workout A and the following week you switch the days. On monday I did squats, benchpress and barbell rows, on tuesday I did squats, overhead barbell press and deadlifts, today I will be repeating mondays routine. You do squats all three days since it works the entire body, after each day of successfully lifting the weights for 5 sets of 5 reps on the next time you do that particular exercise you add 5 pounds to the bar. If you can't complete the "5x5" for any one of the exercises you stay at that weight until you can complete it (you deload 10% if it takes more than 3 workout days).

Well that is what I am up to today, aside from work, have a good day!

Its been a while.

Hello Everyone,

It is now September, I have been working for Home Depot since February and it is nice.

After we got home from our big Disney vacation last year I bought a car, it died and I sold it for less than 200 bucks. My Mom also had a siezure that seemed like a mild stroke, but when we took her to the ER and they ran all their tests and scans we were told she had Stage 4 Lung Cancer..... that was how our New Year's Eve went. She died on May 3rd of this year, a little over 4 months after the diagnosis. We have learned to cope with the loss and are moving on.

Shortly after returning from our vacation we found out that Ericka was pregnant, it's a boy, he was born at the beginning of August and looks like my clone. He is a fussy little one which is to be expected, everything will get easier as he grows. This is alot to put into a single blog but it has been quite some time since my last one.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Car Woes 2

So, I have scanned the codes (MAF sensor code only), no help there, but the transmission seems to calmed down after I drained about 2 quarts of excess fluid, but the torque converter seems to be failing (the transmission will shudder in overdrive going uphill). I will do some research and see if this can be an easy or inexpensive fix, I'd hate to have to buy a new transmission if I don't have to. Well, have a great day!

Car Woes

Greetings Everyone,

I purchased a used car on the 5th of December, it seems like its a decent car for 1500 dollars. So far I have replaced the radiator, idle air control valve, throttle position sensor and cleaned the mass air flow sensor. At first there was an idling issue where it would idle in park at 1200 rpm's, now that is fixed and lo and behold a new issue has reared its ugly head when driving it seems like it is constantly trying to downshift into passing gear, even when I am not trying to gun it. Well I have purchased an OBD II scan tool online so that I can actually read the codes and see what is going on since I cannot afford to send it to a shop to be fixed. I will keep updating as I go. Have a great evening.

Being back home

This is the first full day being back home in South Carolina, it feels great, I don't have much money left but it should last us until we start making some paychecks again. I still have to find a real cheap car (probably less than a grand) so we both will be able to work.

When "vacation" lasts too long

It doesn't happen often, but when it does you'll be left feeling like you haven't vacationed at all. If it involved large amounts of travel you'll feel as if all you did was drive around and not relax much at all, too much road time will cause you to have several aches and possibly pains depending on the mode of travel. My current vacation will end with a long boring drive back across the entire country. Well, never again will people outside my immediate family take part in planning our vacation. Vacation should not include tasks like dental appointments and chiropractic visits,  those things should be taken care of outside of my families vacation.

Theme park rule number 1

Rule number one of them parks: never ever attend a theme park on any sort of holiday or a day where they slash ticket prices for any reason whatsoever,  if you do you will spend more time waiting in lines than you will spend doing anything else and that is not an exaggeration.
